Humanitarian Logistics

SITL supports transport and logistics NGOs

Logistics is a crucial element of humanitarian aid, often representing between 60 and 80% of the costs of operations... Come and meet Aviation sans Frontières, Bioport, Hulo and Atlas Logistique to exchange ideas and support them in their work!

Increasing humanitarian needs, global warming and uncertainties about future funding for humanitarian aid mean that everything possible must be done to optimise humanitarian logistics.

A collaboration between 4 major players in logistics and humanitarian aid: by pooling their resources and expertise, they can respond more quickly and effectively to humanitarian needs.

Aviation Sans Frontières

Since 1980, it has been putting the resources and skills of the aeronautical world at the service of humanitarian aid, whether through the missions it carries out thanks to the mobilisation of the air network, operations carried out on its own aircraft or actions implemented in collaboration with flying clubs in France.

This NGO, which is recognised as being in the public interest, provides vital logistical support to dozens of humanitarian organisations, guaranteeing the delivery of emergency aid and transporting or accompanying people around the world.

Bioport

This not-for-profit organisation was set up in 1994 (on the initiative of Benoit MIRIBEL with the support of Dr Charles MERIEUX) to federate the logistics of those involved in solidarity and public health.

Bioport is a recognised player in the field of solidarity, humanitarian and healthcare logistics, working to help vulnerable people by building up skills and pooling resources in France and abroad.

Their business is to provide advice and logistics services tailored to the needs of humanitarian aid workers, using a pioneering, partnership-based and innovative approach..

Atlas Logistique

HI/AL was founded in 1992 and has since become the technical and operational unit of Handicap International - Humanité & Inclusion (HI), specialising in the delivery of aid in support of humanitarian organisations and the H2H (Humanitarian to Humanitarian) humanitarian system, providing HI with expertise in supporting the logistical organisation of relief efforts.

As a humanitarian player, HI/AL's mission is to maximise the impact of aid by optimising supply chains and opening up humanitarian space to the hardest-to-reach populations, in complex contexts of acute and chronic crises. In 2025, Atlas Logistique will be operating in 15 countries.

Hulo

The first humanitarian logistics cooperative, created and run by 15 international organisations since 2021, Hulo connects logistics players to increase the efficiency of humanitarian aid.

Hulo structures and facilitates the pooling of resources, optimises supply chains and reduces the environmental footprint of humanitarian logistics. Their collaborative approach maximises and measures the impact of each intervention, based on a shared digital platform.
